Environmental Officer on Board (M/F/d):


Your Responsibilities:


Essential Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Oversees the Environmental Compliance of the ship and is actively realizing the Environmental Compliance of the ship
  • Being responsible to carry out Environmental training for all personnel on board and newly hired Environmental Officers
  • Verifies that all Environmental records on board are maintained correctly and complete
  • Verifies that all types of waste, may they be liquid or solid, are properly segregated
  • Conducts regular rounds, including Engine Spaces, Garbage Handling, and food preparation areas

Your Profile:


  • Have an environmental science degree or higher with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • Engineer with experience in operating or maintaining technical systems similar to those found on cruise ships with at least 3 years of relevant experience and an engineering degree or higher, or
  • Former Navy or Coast Guard engineer who has achieved Chief Petty Officer Rank or higher, or
  • Marine Engineering Officer who has achieved 2nd Engineer rank or higher with an STCW A-III/2 certificate of competency, or Deck Officer who has achieved the rank of 1st officer or equivalent with an STCW A-II/2 certificate of competency
  • Successful completion of the annual Corporate Environmental Officer training
  • Proven experience in technical, organizational, or environmental protection preferably in the marine or shipping industry.
  • Advanced English knowledge and very good communication skills
