Job Description:

As a System Performance Expert you are responsible for managing all aspects of system performance: From architectural design down to debugging & pre-analyzing of measurement results & defects occurring in the system during the development lifecycle.

You are responsible for the specification of Key Performing Indicators of our systems to meet the customer expectations and in an overarching function, you leads the cross-domain teams to achieve the performance goals.

What You Will Do

Define generally applicable policies in the area of system performance and implement appropriate model features and extensions in the System and Software Architecture Model
Develop and maintain performance related best practices, methods and tools
Ensure alignment within Harman and with customer, 3rd parties and automotive standards
Define and maintain concepts in the project architectural designs to achieve performance targets
Use, validate and improve the performance specific trace & debug architecture & tools
Drive clarification of performance requirements with domain stakeholders to ensure sustainable solutions
Define resource budgets according to the architectural design
Define reliable methods and use cases to verify performance KPIs continuously and automatically
Agree on suitable trace markers and use cases with SW domains in order to ensure reliable and automated KPI measurements
Ensure continuous KPI test execution and evaluate the results
Assign performance findings to the appropriate SW domain and align results with customer
Support and instruct SW domain specialists to improve their subsystem architecture design in terms of performance
Provide solution proposals for errors where applicable, actively steering the bugfixing by technical coordination of all involved parties with multiple dependencies
Provide reports of the results and suitable action plans on demand to project management and to the customer
Provide performance statistics to the teams
Review SW code and design concepts

What You Need

Master degree in computer science or equivalent
Track record with minimum 510 years of experience in embedded systems or projects of comparable complexity as automotive infotainment
5 years of professional experience in software development with focus on embedded Linux systems
Profound knowledge of modelbased software architecture and design tools
Practical experience in coordinating engineering teams
Experience in system introspection, especially system monitoring
Proven knowledge of Trace & Debugging tools & architecture
Proven experience in Linux methods of assigning and monitoring system resources
Profound knowledge of Linux kernel concepts with respect to system performance
Proven experience in SW performance evaluation & problem solving
Professional skills in C/C++ and shell programming, Python is beneficial
Good communication and technical presentation skills
Fluent English communication skills both written and verbal
