Senior Medical Director, Global Specialty Medical Affairs (GSMA), Medical Information and Education (MI&E) (M/F/x):


The position:


The Senior Director Global Specialty Medical Affairs (level is contingent upon past experiences and qualifications) is a critical GSMA member for non-oncology products.

S/he will be actively representing GSMA in various cross-functional teams internally and to external stakeholders.


This role includes but is not limited to the development of plans and the oversight of evaluation of internal and external medical information and communication, of independent medical education programs (CME), and of grants requests.

It is paramount to develop a solid understanding (science) of Daiichi Sankyo's current and future products as well as the competitive landscape (commercial).

The incumbent will contribute his/her broad expertise in internal medicine and serve as the clinical expert for immunology of Specialty Medicine.


As part of the GSMA transformation initiative that prepares Medical Affairs for the future, the incumbent agrees and will enjoy taking on new roles and responsibilities within GSMA as part of her/his development plan.

This includes the representation of GSMA in process related meetings such as the alignment of global SOPs.


Qualification:


  • Medical degree (MD), preferably with board certification in internal medicine and/or immunology or neurology OR PhD in life sciences; both with a track record of peerreviewed publications as the lead author in internationally acknowledged journals
- proof of excellent writing skills (in English)


Professional experience:

- in-depth experience in immunology and internal medicine
- at least 5 years of experience in clinical medicine and/or research in an academic environment OR a minimum 5-year hands-on clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry
- versed in GCP, ICH, CONSORT, and publication guidelines
- excellent writing skills of scientific documents (in English) as proven by a track record of MI&E materials and manuscripts


Personal skills and other competencies:

- an advanced level of interpersonal skills in matrix structures to merge the different competencies, mindsets, and approaches of individuals from various countries and cultures to achieve the common goals
- the knowledge how to successfully solve complicated and complex situations through outstanding conversational skills within the frameworks of the pharmaceutical industry like governance, roles and responsibilities, and processes
- remaining focused on what is best for the global organization while remaining open-minded and considerate of regional/intercultural peculiarities
