Job description:

"Public and private partners working closer together to achieve the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda" is the goal of the consulting project "Cooperation with the private sector" and particular of the SDG Market Building Program of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

One very important goal in this context is to achieve a new dimension of cooperation with Africa.

The G20 Africa Partnership, the Compact with Africa, and the Marshall Plan with Africa have laid the foundations for this.

On this basis, it is necessary to sensibly expand the information, promotion and investment protection offers of German Development Cooperation (DC) in order to win more companies for a sustainable commitment in developing and emerging countries.

The above-mentioned consulting project is dedicated to this development potential by piloting new and innovative approaches at the interface between development policy benefits and entrepreneurial action.

Among other things, the project focuses on the promotion of development-relevant private investments and access to financing opportunities.

The objective of the SDG Market Building Program is pursued, among other things, through a work package in the area of project development.

Your tasks:

Project sourcing and development of the identified project opportunities in the fields of irrigation, renewables energies and post harvesting mechanisation
Definition, development and implementation of the project development strategy in the field of irrigation, Agri-PV and post harvesting mechanisation in the previosly named target countries
Responsibility for the successful implementation of further activities including studies, workshops and trainings
Mobilization of privat companies for participation with the implementation of the projects and activities
Managing existing partnerships and establishing new ones with farmers or industry associations for the collaboration in project development and activities and project implementation
Coordination in close cooperation with other GIZ programmes and colleagues in the target countries

Your profile:

Several years of professional experience and first relevant expertise in the implementation of projects in the agricultural and food industry, preferably abroad
First professional experience and relevant expertise in advising and cooperating with partner institutions and with the private sector
Excellent selforganisation and flexibility
Reliable and a highly motivated team player
Ability to think and act strategically and analytically
Business Fluent in English; French and German language skills are a significant advantage

This job is suited to a full or a part-time position.

The willingness for frequent business trips is required.
