Slowness is a collective of People, Places and Projects that reframe the way we live, work and interact.

Drawing insights from regenerative agriculture, adaptive reuse and the slow movement, we are currently developing places around the world that offer a deeper, more conscious and collaborative form of hospitality.

The role is based on our Berlin flagship campus Flussbad, on the banks of the Spree in the Rummelsburg neighborhood, where we recently began our phased opening with the semi-subterranean performance space

  • Reethaus. The whole campus will encompass exhibition spaces, gastronomy, creative studios, workspaces and holistic health offerings. We are currently in different stages of developing several other destinations, including a countryside retreat in the Uckermark region, a healthcentered Hotel at lake Tegernsee, such as a hotel, a beach restaurant and a farm in Portugal.


We are looking for a highly motivated and seasoned professional to join our Berlin office and contribute to the development of our operations teams in Germany.

They will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing People & Culture strategies to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

This position requires a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to align People initiatives with business objectives.

They will be responsible for creating and implementing programs that attract, develop, and retain top talent, while ensuring a supportive and engaging work environment.

Responsibilities:


  • Take the lead on strategic People planning & budgeting.
  • In charge of talent sourcing, recruiting, interviewing & hiring process.
  • Introduce industryleading concepts on the topic of collaboration & development.
  • Develop relevant networks and partnerships to build a solid talent pool.
  • Plan and carry out annual/periodic reviews in close collaboration with operational leaders.
  • Research, review, introduce and manage employee benefits.
  • Administer the payroll process in collaboration with our external payroll office.
  • Create employment contracts, supplements and other official personnel documents.
  • Responsible for the implementation of and compliance with health and safety measures.
  • Develop SOPs in close collaboration with other departmental leads.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, creating an environment that values and respects individual differences and implement strategies to promote equity and eliminate biases within the organization.

Requirements:


  • Have a genuine interest the hospitality world and be able to identify with the principles and ethos of the Slow vision.
  • Have a strong passion and interest in people, their growth and development.
  • BA Degree in administration, social sciences, psychology, or comparable qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in hospitality and/or a startup environment.
  • Thorough understanding of German labor & social security law, such as compliance and industry trends.
  • Very good commercial and analytical skills to understand Slow's needs and translate them into workforce planning.
  • Enthusiasm for innovation, constant change and a dynamic environment.
  • Exemplary and positive conflict mindset/culture.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in German & English.
