- Design, conduct, and analyze cell culture experiments primarily focusing on cell line development, especially in suspension cultures.
- Independently plan and execute experiments and analyses, such as cell counting, transfection, single cell cloning, and cell-based assays. Ensure thorough documentation of lab work and maintain quality control standards within the team. Offer technical and scientific assistance to junior team members and other departments.
- Perform computer-based data analysis, interpret results, and present findings. Establish methods in the relevant field and create work instructions and SOPs. Conduct literature reviews, suggest ideas for project design and method enhancement. Contribute to scientific report writing.
- Engage in laboratory upkeep, inventory management, and resource organization.
- Holder of an M.Sc. in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or virology, or equivalent experience demonstrating knowledge of fundamental theories in Cell and Molecular Biology.
- Proficient in cell and molecular biology techniques, including mammalian cell culture, transfection, gene editing, qPCR / ddPCR, protein biochemistry, ELISA and Western blot, and cell-based assays. Skilled in computer usage, particularly MS Office.
- Experienced in conducting literature searches and interpreting scientific publications.
- Capable of independent work with strong cross-departmental collaboration abilities.
- Fluent in English (both oral and written); knowledge of German is an advantage.
- Prior industry experience, especially in gene therapy or mAb development, is highly beneficial.
- Expertise in producing and analyzing viral vectors (especially rAAV) and developing genetically modified cell lines.
- Experience in cultivating and processing mammalian suspension cell lines, preferably in an industrial environment.
