The Quantum Computing and Technologies Department (QCT) at LRZ is a team of computer science
and quantum physics specialists researching, advancing and providing quantum computing technolo
- gies for local and international advanced computing communities. The QCT team provides scientific
users with a broad portfolio of quantum resources and services, including quantum simulators, remote
access to quantum hardware, on-premise quantum systems, development environment tools, scientific
consultancy, and education/training. A main focus of this team is the research and development of inte
- gration pathways for quantum acceleration capabilities for next-generation high-performance computing
(HPC) systems.

As a member of the LRZ Quantum team, you're in the driver's seat developing and providing new tools
and methods by working with cutting-edge hardware technologies. By developing cross-compilers tar
- geting multiple quantum platforms, you will provide our users with the ability to access quantum systems
with a stable, secure, easy-to-use, and effective access system across multiple architectures. You are
pivotal for building unique solutions merging quantum and HPC workflows, advancing the community's
research capabilities, and in propelling Bavaria as a global quantum hotspot pushing the boundaries of
innovative scientific discoveries achievable with quantum-accelerated computing.

We're actively seeking a great person for:

Quantum Compiler Engineer (f/m/d) for the Munich Quantum Stack
**_Generally, in this position, you:
- *
  • Develop novel backend LLVMbased transformations
  • Design and implement efficient deterministic algorithms and pioneering heuristics for quan

- tum circuit optimization
  • Define software compile strategies
  • Develop a software stack for seamless integration of quantum accelerators into current and
- next
- generation Exascale systems
  • Write, review, and test code following software development best practices including con
- tinuous integration

**_Skills you need:
- *
  • M.Sc. in Computer Science and 3+ years' experience as a compiler developer, or related
experience

  • Strong skills and demonstrated experience with LLVM compiler infrastructure and Clang
  • Significant software development experience, preferably in C++11/1
  • Knowledge about quantum circuit compilation and optimization is beneficial
  • Strong skills and solid experience with Linux and version control
  • HPC experience is a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with Rust, Qiskit, and QASM, as well as knowledge in quantum computing in

- general is benefitial
  • Great team member skills, able to work very well with others, selfstarter spirit and a drive
- to figure things out when faced with uncertainty
  • Proficiency in English, interest in learning German
