The
Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics - in the field of _Secure Software Engineering _- has a vacancy for the following position.


Post-Doc Employee (f/m/d)
(pay group 14 TV-L)

to be filled with 100 % of the regular working time.

This is a qualification position within the meaning of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG), which is being filled to promote qualification in the field of Secure Software Engineering.

The position is initially limited to three years; an extension is possible in principle.


The Secure Software Engineering department develops methods and tools to make tomorrow's hardware and software systems functional, fail-safe and attack-proof.

The research is carried out in a practice-oriented manner, in cooperation with renowned international partners from science, politics and business.

One focus of the department is the design of automated procedures to detect software vulnerabilities. Some of the software tools developed at the department are used by hundreds of research groups and companies worldwide.


The department is embedded in an interdisciplinary research landscape, with connections to the Paderborn Fraunhofer Institute for _Mechatronics Design_, the DFG Collaborative Research Centre _901 On-the-fly computing_, a NRW Research Training Group and the _it's owl _leading-edge cluster.


We are looking for scientists with a doctorate in the fields of IT security, software engineering or programming languages who would like to further qualify themselves for a career in academic or industrial research.

For this further qualification, we offer diverse opportunities, also accompanied by professional coaches, in the area of research, teaching and academic self-administration.

Applicants should be interested in supporting doctoral students in their scientific work and in further developing their teaching skills.


Tasks:


  • Cooperation with doctoral students with regard to their doctorate
  • Collaboration in the design and formulation of scientific funding proposals
  • Assignment of additional tasks in independent research and project management

Recruitment requirements:


  • Completed doctorate in the fields of IT security, software engineering or programming languages
  • Several relevant publications at renowned international conferences or specialist journals
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken German or English
