What you will do

Background:


The research topics of the Geoanalytics group at the Fraunhofer Ernst-Mach-Institute focus on the topic of extracting information from Earth observation data to generate a merit for economy and society.

In this field of research, AI methods such as deep neural networks are becoming a central tool to efficiently analyze large datasets.


Your tasks:


As student assistant you will continue previous work that has been done on AI-assisted image data processing in different spectra and evaluate new architectures and methods to analyze high dimensional Earth observation data.


What you bring to the table

  • Currently enrolled in computer science, geoinformatics/sciences, or similar studies
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English & German (optional)
  • You have knowledge in at least one programming language (e.g. Python)
  • You are interested in Earth Observation, Geoscience and Machine Learning
  • Ability to work independently in a team and motivation to learn new skills
