Overview:


The Technician's main responsibilities will include but are not limited to, rework support, electronic and mechanical assembly, software download, debugging of problem systems and instrumentation, maintenance, and upkeep of vehicles.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Be involved with all aspects of component and system level commissioning and testing
  • Ensure vehicle readiness for the timely delivery of commissioning and testing milestones
  • Travel frequently to multiple different test locations and captured test fleets.
  • Dynamic respond to Engineers requests
  • Build, modify and test cable harnesses. Experience with EE component soldering
  • Troubleshoot and analyze low voltage electrical/electronic and mechanical issues
  • Troubleshoot various systems using documentation, instrumentation, and input from the engineer
  • Knowledge handling electric and hybrid vehicles, incl. HV safety procedures
  • Familiar with vehicle level test equipment setup, configuration including measurement systems (voltage, current, temperature, rpm, etc.) and bus systems (CAN, LIN) and dataloggers.
  • Familiar and comfortable with hand tools and power tools
  • Organization and upkeep of engineering environments
  • Familiar with vehicle tear down and vehicle maintenance activities in automotive workshops
  • Support prototype test setups and test execution

Qualifications:

You Have:


  • College or Associate's degree in Applied Science and/or Automotive Technologies, or relevant ASE certifications and/or experience.
  • Certification of HV training.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in shop and automotive environments, preferably working with complex electromechanical systems
  • Experience with electric vehicle architecture and have a strong understanding of High Voltage Battery Systems, Low Voltage Systems, Powertrain Systems, Structures, Chassis/Suspension, and Braking Systems.
  • Physical stamina to (including but not limited to) stand, kneel, bend, push, pull, reach, grip, lift
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to deliver succinct written and verbal communication and make timely decisions
  • Motivation and ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently with limited supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross functional group setting, including essential technical assistance to support R&D Engineers
  • Handson technical experience debugging complex mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including internationally
  • Experience and comfortable with standard workshop equipment, hand tools and power tools. Handson experience in machine shop is a plus

Preferred Experience:


  • Strong foundation of electrified concepts (E-Systems)
  • Experience working on highvoltage systems
  • Experience working on hydrogen fuel cell systems
  • Experience with JIRA, JAMA, and CATIA
