Duties:


  • Perform a wide range of activities including assessing, planning, evaluating and modifying the treatment locations throughout the medical treatment facility.
  • Examine patients and performs initial patient workup and assessment of patients' care and treatment.
  • Diagnose disease, illness disorder or injury.
  • Record entries into patient's automated charts including progress notes, treatment rendered, and tests or procedures ordered.
  • Provide surgical and preventive services to healthy individuals including guidance in common illnesses, accidents, alternative drugs usage, etc.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
  • This position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • This position requires the completion of a preemployment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Shifts may be rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • This position is identified as Mission Essential which may require you to work or remain at work during an emergency situation or when inclement weather has curtailed operations (e.g., threat to the facility, natural disaster, delayed reporting).

Basic Requirement for Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner):

Degree:

A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.

This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.

Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Degree for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Positions: A graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty required by the position.

Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.

Licensure:Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Additional License Requirements for Advanced Practice Nurse Positions: Applicants for Advanced Practice Nurse must possess licensure or registration by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States in the clinical specialty required by the position.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Experience:
At least one full year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11. Professional Nursing Experience is defined as performing physical examinations and either diagnosing medical conditions or prescribing medications. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

  • Management has identified experience that is highly desired, but not required.

  • Experience in Acute Care/ICU Nursing, as well as experience in outpatient setting highly desired.
  • Experience in collaborative practice, ideally with a physician practice group.
  • ACLS & ATLS Certification
