Duties:


  • Provide group therapy sessions to inpatients.
  • Provide case management services.
  • Provide crisis intervention to service members.
  • Provide therapy using various modalities as needed.
  • Provide timely feedback on findings to other medical providers and/or service members' command.
  • Monitor behavioral health treatment plans.
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness to make adjustments as needed.
  • Provide continuity consultations with providers as needed.
  • Develop specific clinical pathways for targeted patient groups.

  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
  • A preplacement medical examination is required.
  • Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
  • This position requires the incumbent to work on an intermittent or unscheduled, oncall basis.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

US CitizensBasic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical)**:


Degree:

Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.


  • In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

License:
A current, active, valid, and unrestricted Social Work license from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.


Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes: Making recommendations identifying patients who require social work involvement to make appropriate referrals; Providing psychological case management services to include evaluating treatment effectiveness for efficacy; AND providing individual and/or group therapy working with an inpatient population.


  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS11 or above).
  • Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a spacerequired basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation , the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI and DoDM
  • If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a spacerequired basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation , then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI and DoDM
  • Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a spaceavailable and reimbursable basis only.
