Munich Re Markets Inforce Solutions business structures and administers bespoke reinsurance solutions for Munich Re's life insurance clients with a focus on clients' products in the savings, retirement and investment space.

These transactions typically involve combinations of financial markets and insurance risks while delivering a capital and/or risk management impact relevant to an insurers corporate finance management and planning.

A junior consultant within our client facing origination team will support the activities of senior consultants through the following:

Your Job

Preparation of client engagement material (presentations, memos, reports) under the direction and guidance of experienced team members
Analysing risk and profitability of life insurance and reinsurance products and inforce portfolios
Assisting in developing appropriate reinsurance solutions encompassing accounting, regulatory and economic risk transfer aspects
Knowledgeable in how to project an insurance company's balance sheet and ability to work with / develop the necessary model (Excel) for such projections
Summarisation and communication of financial information through review of public information documents
Maintaining awareness of and access to sources of client public information and regular collation of news reports related to client circumstances
Coordination of team interaction with external professional advisors
Development of own professional understanding of client problem set and Munich Re solution set through interaction with team
Development of professional qualifications such as CFA, actuarial qualification or similar

Your Profile

High quality degree in mathematics, insurance / financial mathematics, statistics or business graduates with mathematical orientation
Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, Access
Proficient use of a statistical modeling software package or programming language (e.g. MatLab, R, Python etc.)
Financial Mathematics and/or Actuarial training
Strong presentation skills
Proactive, analytical and innovative in solving problems and flexibility in relation to a continuously and rapidly changing environment
Ability to work within a team distributed over various locations
Fluent English speaker (other languages also advantageous)
Intrinsic motivation, high personal integrity, joy in meeting challenges
