The Berlin Police - the State Office ofCriminal Investigation is looking for a permanent position at theearliest possible date for a

Full-time with 39.4 hours per week (part-timeemployment may be possible)

You can expect these tasks, among others

Supporting the special and exceptional requirements ofthe operation and further development of the LKA 72 investigationnetwork.

This includes in particular:

the design, construction andoperation of server systems and complex networks as well asspecial, purpose-oriented examination and evaluation technologyaccording to the needs of the users,
Ensuring the operation of critical systems,
advising employees of the State Office of Criminal Investigation onIT issues,
rectifying hardware and softwareproblems, including hardware-related activities
network administration and network management, firewalladministration,
the operation and furtherdevelopment of a virtualization platform (VMware, vCenter, vDP),
the planning of complex procurementprocesses through to the creation of planning documents,
the creation and updating of IT securityconcepts,
providing operational support inthe context of outstanding investigations.

You have ...

aBachelor's degree in computer science or a comparable course ofstudy or a comparable qualification with relevant specialistknowledge and many years of practical experience (at least 3years).
If these requirements are not met, aclassification in pay group 11 TV-L or lower may be considered.
Comprehensive and proven knowledge andexperience in the administration of Windows and Linux systems,
very good knowledge and experience withvirtualization technology, firewall, network technology and storagesystems (NAS),
Knowledge and experience inthe operation and monitoring of server systems (e-mail, web, file)as well as experience with backup techniques,
Knowledge in the operation of AD domains under Linux.

Good knowledge:

in the operation of the basic services of theabove-mentioned operating systems (in particular e-mail with MSExchange and Postfix/Dovecot, print services, user administration,file services such as SAMBA),
of storageinfrastructure (SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI), virtualization,
the iOS and Android smartphone operatingsystems and their integration into MDM systems,
of VPN and Wireshark.
