YOUR MISSION:

The security group within DLR GfR mbH is responsible for the security of Galileo's local and electronic environment. As a Cyber Security Analyst for the Galileo project, you are responsible within the security department for ensuring compliance with the security requirements set by EUSPA (European Union Agency for the Space Programme), e.g. through internal audits, log analyses, evaluation of proposed system changes, participation in technical committees and review of the relevant documentation. In addition, as a cyber security analyst, you will support the processes related to the introduction of new versions of the Galileo systems and provide contributions to improving system functionality and the general security situation. Specifically, you will take on the following tasks:

Planning and conducting routine internal audits of Galileo systems, including configuration data collection, processing, analysis and reporting
Perform routine collection of security-related logs, processing, analysis and reporting
Maintaining basic system documentation
Developed improved workflows for processing and analyzing system configuration data and system logs
Development, implementation and monitoring of risk reduction measures in the context of security
Evaluate proposed process and system configuration changes from a security perspective and with regard to security requirements, including participation in the associated technical committees
Assessment of technical issues from a safety perspective and in relation to safety requirements, including participation in the relevant technical bodies
Assist in the assessment and escalation of identified potential security incidents, system baseline violations and/or security requirements
Participate in the processes related to the release of updated Galileo systems, including reviewing manufacturer documentation, providing input for implementation milestones, planning and executing regression and functional testing
Participate in system improvement working groups and provide input related to cybersecurity.
Develop training materials related to team activities and safety in general
Training of team and project employees

YOUR QUALIFICATION:

Completed bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security or equivalent
1-3 years of professional experience in the IT or security industry
Extensive experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
Providing 24/7 on-call service on a rotational basis (3-4 times per calendar quarter)
Willingness to undergo a security check according to SÜG
Confidentiality and reliability
Initiative and curiosity
Fluent English, spoken and written

The following additional qualifications are an advantage:

Knowledge of national legal requirements and international standards in information security (e.g. Secret Protection in Business (BMWi), NIST, ISO 27001, etc.)
Programming and scripting skills (e.g. Python)
Knowledge of the command line (e.g. Bash, Powershell)
Experience with virtualized environments
Experience with networking in industrial environments
Good knowledge of German and/or Italian
