Beschreibung
The working group Hydrogeochemistry & Hydrogeology at the Faculty of Geosciences is looking for a

PhD student (m,f,x) for 3 years, 29,8725 hours per week, E13 TVL
:

PhD student (M/F/x) who will work within a research project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) in collaboration with the University of Armed Forces Munich and research institutions in Austria and Switzerland.

The position is based on a 75% TVL-E13 position and limited to 36 months.

Starting date is preferably July 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter but not later than 1st of November 2023.

Climate change is affecting mountainous hydrology and will dramatically increase the number of disastrous natural hazards, such as extensive surface runoff and debris flow.

The thermo-hydraulic state of the soil is critical in these events as it controls the water infiltration. In this project, the coupling between infiltrating water and the soil at sub-zero temperatures will be investigated.

The project results will benefit hazard mitigation measures as well as groundwater management in regions that depend on mountainous water resources.
