Duties:


  • Directs the effective provision of a wide variety of general administrative and operational services and actions supporting the daytoday operation of the Brigade.
  • Translates relevant technical and programmatic information received from the Network, Enterprise, Technology Command or higher authority into guidance and actions.
  • Keeps employees informed on organizational goals and objectives, as well as changes in regulations, policies, and procedures governing the work.
  • Exercises full program and managerial responsibilities for the organization.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the office and the technical supervision of the staff.
  • Ensures requirements are tracked from orders receipt through execution.
  • Manages the 2d Signal Brigade military and civilian professional training requirements.

Conditions of Employment:


  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance eligibility with access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • The IT classification for this position is IT (I, II, or III) (use IT matrix below). Position is designated as special sensitive.
  • Must pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter according to AR 60085, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • The incumbent of this position is required to fill out form OGE 450, Financial Disclosure.
  • Position may be designated Emergency-Essential (E-E) in support of mobilization and wartime mission.
  • If designated E-E, employee will be required to remain in the overseas position in the event of hostilities or mobilization until relieved by proper authority.
  • E-E employees are required to undergo nuclearbiological and chemical training and to participate in readiness tests, mobilization, alerts, and field training exercises.
  • Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployed location. Prior to appointment to the position, employee will sign a statement agreeing to the E-E condition of employment.
  • This position may be designated Mission Essential.
  • Employee may be required to remain on duty or report for duty during severe weather or other installation closings. May be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.
  • Incumbent must be able to travel on temporary duty (both stateside and overseas) 15% or more of the time.

  • Current DoD Employees: If a current permanent CES employee, you shall be granted administrative return rights. If not a current permanent CES employee, you may be granted administrative return rights if agreed to by your CONUS organization.
  • In accordance with DoD CES Personnel System Implementation Guidance for Overseas Rotations and Administrative Return Rights, employees must be able to satisfy the rotation requirement and tour limitations in DoD Instruction Volume 1230.

Work Category at the Senior Performance Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

  • To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by

(1) managing taskings and requirements through formal taskings and military orders processes;

(2) developing long and short-term training and professional development programs; providing technical advice and assistance to management regarding all aspects of network operations and current operations, plans to meet needs, and evaluation of results; initiating, leading, and executing proposed changes to operational support requirements and assessing impact;

(3) and developing, forecasting and managing professional development budgets for a Command or organization.


Education:

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
