The Finance team at Marley Spoon is always looking to bring in exceptional talent to provide business partnership and best-in-class analysis and reporting.

Our aim is to help the company make the right, fact-based decisions with data integrity to move the business forward.

As part of this effort, we are now looking for a
Director of Reporting, Audit and Tax based on either Germany or Portugal.


Responsibilities:


  • Review monthly consolidated financial statements, including taking part in monthly balance sheet reviews for each of the Company's entities;
  • Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation pursuant to IFRS rules;
  • Actively contribute deliverables to support all Frankfurt Stock Exchange filing requirements;
  • Oversee and review intercompany transactions between the subsidiaries of the Group, including compliance and the development of transfer pricing methodologies;
  • Supervise the preparation of statutory financial statements across our European businesses;
  • Interface with the external audit team as the pointperson for the Company, for both the Group audit and the supplemental statutory audit processes;
  • Oversee and standardize technical accounting interpretations for the Group, including writing and reviewing accounting memos;
  • Review and submit statutory tax returns and coordinate aggregation of supporting files;
  • Maintain and refine the Company's internal control framework across the global business, including the development and innovation of existing operational finance processes;
  • Engage with crossfunctional stakeholders (People & Culture, Legal, Digital, Marketing, Production and Purchasing teams) to ensure correct accounting treatment and policy adherence for all company transactions;
  • Lead and develop a multinational and talented central finance team based primarily in Berlin, but with staff located globally;
  • Engage in ad hoc projects as needed, such as mergers and acquisitions;
  • Oversee implementation and use of automated consolidation tool (Lucanet).

Requirements:


Must Have:


  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in External Audit, Controllership and/or Accounting functions;
  • 2+ years of management experience;
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Finance/Accounting as well as CPA/ACCA equivalent;
  • Fluent command of English required;
  • Executive presence and maturity for boardlevel communications / interactions;
  • Experience with IFRS is required;
  • Previous exposure to complex accounting assessments and technical accounting interpretations;
  • A proven track record of similar positions in an international professional services firm or in a scaleup environment;
  • Track record of leading, coaching, and training a multinational virtual team;
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic environment where change is constant;
  • Exceptional analytical skills and clear communication style;
  • Significant attention to detail;
  • Proactive, solutionoriented problem solver;
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization, including individuals outside of the finance function, across multiple time zones.

Nice to Have:

  • German language skills are highly desirable;
  • Local European GAAP is highly desirable;
  • Experience in consumer products/manufacturing environments are a plus.
