The
Senior Director/Executive Director will work with Therapeutic Unit Head (TUH), HemOnc Senior Leadership team (SLT) and key internal and external stakeholders to lead and coordinate the growth of the cell and gene therapy segment of the TU whilst supporting operational excellence in the conduct of awarded trials.


  • Accountable for focused growth in cell gene therapy (CGT) to support expansion of PPD wallet share
  • Accountable for cell therapy TU strategy including growth plan, pipeline analysis and engagement across the enterprise to support expansion of book of business with existing clients and growth of new clients
  • Partner with TU Business Segment Leads and serve as an SME in support of the operational execution understanding of internal capabilities and talent development of Phase I-III trials in assigned areas
  • Partner with TU Business Segment Leads and partners to expand current strategy to continue to enable operational best practices, case studies, external messaging, competitive landscape, indication specific solutions/innovation and support currency of CGT 'sellsheets' and BD rep knowledge material
  • Serve as core team member of Immunooncology CoE, ACTNow and engage across the enterprise, contributing to cell therapy networks and supporting new opportunities
  • Maintain an understanding of current and future R&D trends and competitive environment for assigned areas
  • Collaborate with TU Business Segment Leads, enterprise partners (Evidera, Global Product Development, commercial and Pharmacovigilance Group physicians and OSLs) to ensure compelling and feasible tailormade proposal strategies that differentiate PPD in areas of focus
  • Collaborate across the PPD as part of Thermo Fisher Scientific enterprise to optimize use of service offers in assigned areas of focus
  • Facilitate cross functional review of commercial losses for key strategic CGT opportunities with focus on optimizing future performance
  • Serve as member of the HemOnc SLT

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's or preferably higher degree in science or business required
  • 15+ years of experience in a CRO, biopharma or biotech services industry
  • Deep understanding, knowledge, and networking of the biopharma or biotech industries

  • Deep and current knowledge of the scientific, clinical, regulatory, operational and competitive landscape
  • Strong global knowledge and awareness/understanding of global hematology oncology and cell therapy drug development and delivery environment
