Your Profile

We are looking for a person with a university degree in pharmacy, chemistry, biology or related fields of study.


In addition we expect:


  • PhD in pharmacy, chemistry, molecular or microbiology or related fields
  • Field of work/research Pharmaceutical Biotechnology with the following focal points:
  • Pharmaceutical quality and manufacturing (CMC) of biopolymers in the regulated surrounding
  • Selection and establishment of hostvector systems and their expression in the fermenter
  • Research activities in the last 5 years
  • Experience in obtaining thirdparty and/or public funding
  • Development of fermentation processes of chemoorganotrophs
  • Experience in working with eukaryotic systems
  • Establishment of master/working cell bank systems
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations (GMP, pharmacopoeias, ICH etc.)


We expect the applicant to integrate themselves well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to get involved in the academic self-administration of our university and to enjoy imparting knowledge from their own professional experience to the students.


The university has a large number of collaborations with universities and research institutions such as Max Planck Institutes and Fraunhofer Institutes as well as companies.

Intensifying and expanding these collaborations is highly desired.

Active participation in the university's research activities is desired. In this context, we strive to increase third-party funding and the number of cooperative doctorates.


We advocate a supervision concept that requires a high level of presence of the teaching staff at the university campus.

German language skills (at least level C1) and English language skills are required. Teaching language ist mainly German.


The hiring requirements for professors are regulated in Sec 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

- und Polymerwissenschaften in full time, permanent basis.
