Duties:


  • Responsible for the development, planning, oversight, administration, management, implementation, and enforcement within the Headquarters and Subordinate units for Communications Security (COMSEC).
  • Serves as a COMSEC inspection and compliance officer.
  • Serves as a Security Specialist in a United States Army Europe-Africa Headquarters providing support to all military and civilian personnel.
  • Provides support for Information Security, Personnel Security, Physical Security, and Industrial Security as well as security training in these disciplines.
  • Manages the USAREUR-AF Command Inspection Program for DCSINT G
  • Serves as the authority for the NATO Sub Registry.
  • Provides guidance to investigating officers and monitors the progress of any investigation to ensure all requirements are met.

Requirements:


Conditions of Employment:


  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 60085, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required 25% or less of the time.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD)Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction
  • This position requires obtaining the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.

  • To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience managing a Communication Security (COMSEC) program; also include experience providing security training in other security disciplines: Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical Security and/or Industrial Security in accordance with security policies and/or regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS11).
  • Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligencerelated security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
