Beschreibung

As one of 76 institutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft we show how to not only master crises, but grow from them.

Pushing boundaries. Always trying something new. Not just thinking, but thinking ahead. We turn research into the future.

We want an earth that is worth living on.

With our research in the divisions of climate-neutral energy systems, resource-efficient processes and circular products, we make concrete contributions to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

Our employees conduct research in the fields of energy, environment, safety, health, communication and mobility.

Are you looking for an exciting master thesis and want to contribute to beneficial and meaningful research? Then you're in the right place with us Hydrogen is the key element in the energy transition.

The development of innovative cell components can reduce the cost of electrolysis stacks and make the industrial use of green hydrogen economical.

In your master thesis you will develop innovative transport layers for the »Design of Tomorrow« of PEM electrolysis stacks and qualify them mechanically and fluid-dynamically.

What you will do

  • Characterization of innovative transport layers (mechanical and fluid dynamic)
  • Investigation of the influence in stack operation
  • Assembling of electrolysis cells
  • Electrochemical investigation in short and long term tests
  • Optimization of the system under industrially relevant conditions

What you bring to the table

  • Studies in the field of process engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or similar
  • Basic knowledge in the field of electrochemistry is desirable
  • Ideally first experiences in FEM simulation
  • High motivation and interest in electrolysis technologies
  • Independent and committed way of working
  • Very good knowledge of German or English

What you can expect

  • As part of a dynamic team, you actively drive sustainable solutions for a resourceefficient future
  • Opportunity to combine your knowledge from your studies with practical experience at the interface between business and science and to integrate your own ideas
