Your Profile:

You have successfully completed a University degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation engineering or computer science and have the following knowledge and skills:

  • very good knowledge of control and automation engineering or data science,
- ability to work independently in a scientific context,
- ability to work in a team, flexibility,
- very good oral and written English skills.


Your Duties and Responsibilities:

- modeling of technical systems,
- machine learning,
- soft sensors and sensor fusion,
- model-based and model-assisted control,
- self-optimizing and learning controls,
- implementation of algorithms in prototypical software,
- experimental validation on real systems.

You will present the results of your research at international conferences and in leading scientific journals. In addition, you share your knowledge with students in the context of teaching activities.


What We Offer:


The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of initially 2 years.

The option to extend the contract for additional 3 years is planned.

The fixed-term employment is possible as it constitutes one of the fixed-term options of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (German Act on Fixed-term Scientific Contracts).

This is a full-time position.
The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
The position corresponds to a pay grade of EG 13 TV-L.
