Strategic Buyer (d/f/m) Carbon Market:


Within Facility Management & Real Estate Procurement, we are involved in some of the most exciting sustainability initiatives within Airbus (Carbon Market, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Aviation Fuel, sustainable buildings) and you will have the chance to contribute in this role to Airbus' strategic challenges across all its products and services towards our Net-Zero ambition.


Your location
The largest production site for civil aircraft can be found in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe means that you will travel to work by ship. The vibrant port of Hamburg is a green and cosmopolitan city brimming with culture. Alternatively, in the southern German plants in the area of Munich.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead all procurement activities within the Energy/ETS/Voluntary Carbon Merits (VCM) category
  • Within a Multi-FunctionalTeam (MFT) you lead the definition, improvement and implementation of a sourcing strategy for ETS & VCM across all AIRBUS group divisional internal customers
  • Guide the execution of the Carbon Credit sourcing strategy across all AIRBUS group in support of all customers and lead efforts in influencing corporate approaches to carbon credits and market mechanisms.
  • Perform international and crossdivisional CFTs, within the scope of the category. Conduct negotiations, Supplier selection and contracting.
  • Negotiate, establish, implement and regularly review transnational and transdivisional Contracts in the frame of the respective category strategy.
  • Perform contract management activities with regular contract reviews with AIRBUS GROUP' internal customer base and strategic suppliers, based on consistent and factual commercial, quality and delivery KPIs.
  • Manage the day to day relationships with suppliers and running projects to optimize customer value, while minimizing total cost of ownership and risks.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • University degree from an Engineering/Business school or in environmental or sustainability related fields.
  • Several years of professional experience in the sustainability / carbon sector.
  • Successful work experience related to carbon market regulation and Science Based Targets initiatives (SBTi) and voluntary carbon markets (e.g. VCS or Gold standard) would be a plus.
  • Experience with Contracts, negotiations and supplier relationship management.
  • Negotiation level of English and ideally another Airbus core language (German, French, Spanish).
  • The successful applicant will have to be a great team player and project leader, dealing appropriately with different (in particular senior) stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communicator: great relationship builder/manager, able to work crossfunctionally and able to communicate intangible results in a clear and compelling way.
  • Entrepreneurial, outcomeoriented and persistent with the ability to operate and drive results independently.
  • Creative, proactive in challenging the status quo.
  • Agility with IT solutions and cloudbased working environment
