Global Vendor Management is currently looking for a Senior Expert for Vendor & Contract Management (f/m/d) who will become a part of the team to support key areas Vendor Governance, Outsourcing Oversight and Commercial Management.

This role is to be filled in either our Frankfurt or Munich office.


You will act as contact point to both our internal partners as well as strategic vendors, handling KPI and SLA, contracts, ensuring the contractual result and service quality are in check.


Additionally, the requirement is to work on central initiatives with an objective to find opportunities for optimization of our partnership environment and service relationships.

Overall, you will collaborate with a highly motivated, performance-oriented, diverse and creative team, which will give you global exposure and high opportunity to gain knowledge in this field.


Key responsibilities:


Vendor and Contract Management

  • Performing and developing the relationship to strategic suppliers at tactical and strategic levels and help leading the total portfolio of vendors, bought services, products and projects
  • Primarily responsible for acting the responsible Vendor Manager and central contact partner pertaining to the overall management of the vendor relationship.
  • Tracking and monitoring of supplier deliverables and obligations as well as performance against contractual obligations
  • Financial tracking of contracts, work orders, projects and audits related to the agreement with the supplier
  • Coordination, preparation and followup of contractual governance and operational review meetings
  • Engage and work with internal counterparties to increase awareness on the contract and controlling aspects
  • Collaborate and work closely with various AllianzGI business units and ensure a strong partnership between the vendors and them, ensuring optimal and effective alliance
  • Coordination of periodic risk assessments and ongoing tracking of risk mitigation actions
  • Monitoring/tracking of issues and issue resolution
  • Administration of contracts, contract changes and related documentation in close coordination with functional owners and AllianzGI's Legal department

Commercial Management

  • Work collaboratively with vendors and other internal collaborators to identify continuous cost improvement strategies
  • Verification of supplier charges (prices and volumes), and commercial/financial reporting
  • Handle RFP/RFQ (buyer side) along entire process from initiation to vendor selection
  • Lead internal preparations for vendor negotiations by aligning with various support functions (e.g., IT governance, Finance and Controlling, Legal and Compliance, etc.)
  • Support in budgeting process by cost base lining, spend analysis and implementation of cost mitigation measures
  • Lead case creation and tracking for strategic outsourcing projects

Professional experience/qualifications:


  • Master's degree in business administration, computer or Information Technology
  • Certifications either in ITIL foundation / Prince 2 foundation / Six sigma / IACCM preferred
  • Several year experience in strategic Vendor & Contract Management with international outsourcing partners
  • Experience within the finance/investment industry within asset management operations (middle office, fund accounting, transfer agency, investment analytics) and/ or knowledge of IT industry, tools and processes
  • Standard methodology knowledge
  • Fluency in English (command of German is helpful)
  • Strong social skills: communication, conflict management, analytical thinking and problem solving, excellent negotiation skills, stakeholder management
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Detail oriented and abilities to work with large sets of qualitative and quantitative data
  • High intercultural awareness
  • Ability to handle a constantly evolving environment and to interface professionally with all levels of management
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to easily communicate complex ideas
  • Demonstrable track record in a global matrix organization
  • Excellent knowledge of MS including O365 and Power suite (PowerBI, PowerApps); familiarity with CLM software (e.g., SirionLabs) is a plus
