Job Description Summary


Reporting to Venture Lab 's Director of Marketing & Digital Studios, the Digital Studio Coordinator is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Digital Design Studio - a traditional media production lab in Tangen Hall - and creation and development of various creative assets to be used in Venture Lab programming and initiatives to promote the mission and vision of entrepreneurship at Penn.


This full-time position is located in Philadelphia on Penn's campus and must work on site at Tangen Hall five days per week except for Penn-designated holidays.


Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of design assets by for organizational, programmatic, and student startups.
  • Coordinating with the Communications Coordinator on creative assets to be used across Venture Lab's primary marketing channels
  • Reviewing final design layouts with Communications Coordinator and Director of Marketing & Digital Studios
  • Ownership and expansion of the Venture Lab brand identity and elements, including periodic updates to the style guide, press kits, and other associated collateral
  • Manage studio operations, reservations and projects
  • Manage studio equipment and be responsible for maintaining inventory and performing routine maintenance
  • Responsible for training staff and student workers on how to use equipment and software
  • Focus on graphic design practices and principles (color, font, type, layout, etc.)
  • Coordinate with internal and external media partners, vendors, and agencies on behalf of Venture Lab

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing or related field
  • 24 years of experience as a graphic designer, web designer, or related experience.
  • Proficiency with software such as InDesign, illustrator, Photoshop and Canva
  • A working knowledge of thirdparty design tools (knowledge of Blender, Adobe Aero, or After Effects a plus)
  • Understanding of marketing, web design, brand identity, and multimedia design
  • Creative approach to designing multimedia assets for external and internal marketing
  • Familiarity with computer equipment and building editing workstations
  • Familiarity with industrylevel audio, photo, and video equipment
  • Ability to effectively manage project milestones and timeframes
  • Ability to create, implement and standardize workflow processes for content creation
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of student workers and communicate with other staff and alumni audiences.
  • Working knowledge of marketing best practices and how to effective communicate to the target audience via visual designs
