Are you looking for an opportunity to lead the design and execution of the Vaccines capital investments, If so, Global Head of Capital Project delivery Vaccines is the role for you


Key Responsibilities will be:


  • Ensure all Capex projects within Vaccines are delivered following GSK Project Management Framework. The main focus is on all large strategic projects worldwide and all capex project on the Vx sites in Belgium.
  • Develop performance monitoring (KPIs, audits) and ensure Engineering performance is monitored with defined targets for CapEx
  • Establish long term contracts with preferred Engineering Office partners to ensure competitive rates, a pipeline of trained resources, continuity in project execution, and overall valueadded services of the engineering offices
  • Define and direct the procurement strategy and implementation for construction services and equipment suppliers with Global Procurement
  • Ensure the project control strategy with tools and procedures is implemented for cost/forecasting, change control management, physical progress/ productivity measurement, invoicing, resources, documents management

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • You have successfully completed bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemistry, Electrical, or Life Sciences)
  • Several years of experience in hightech life science projects
  • Several years of experience in engineering and maintenance OR in a manufacturing GMP environment
  • Vast experience leading a major Global capital program, contracts, and construction management
  • Vast experience in senior leadership positions in operations management with direct and matrix responsibility
  • Experience in managing the navigation of decisions and/or their execution through multiple parties in complex, matrix organizations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Deep and broad understanding of the capital project lifecycle from design to operation including significant experience in developing large cross site project business plans
  • Deep understanding of current technological state with regards to production equipment, technical area equipment and infrastructure, IT, automation, Science and Engineering, and process safety
  • Expertise in the implementation of new technologies
  • Skilful in business acumen, innovation management, and strategic agility
  • Advanced knowledge in GMP and regulatory requirements (FDA, EMEA) as applied to maintenance, calibration, and classified facility operation in Bio/Pharma environment
  • Good financial understanding, opex management and cost of ownership evaluation of change and capex
  • Ability to manage change in complex situations
  • Excellent people management and coaching skills
