At Evotec's headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, the Molecular Biology team is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated

Research Assistant (f/m/d)

Full time and temporary (2 year)

Your key responsibilities:

Extraction, preparation and handling of nucleic acids from various sources at higher throughput as well as their quality control
Independent development and execution of qRTPCR as well as branched DNA assays for quantitative analysis of nucleic acids.
Support establishment and optimization of new assays and methodologies for nucleic acid analysis to support drug discovery activities at different stages
Design, plan and execute experiments with a wide degree of autonomy within a team environment
Proactively support scientific project leader in project execution with high attention to details
Consistently provide highquality data and document results
Participate in developing and establishing relevant new technologies, as needed

Your ideal qualifications:

Successfully completed apprenticeship (BTA/CTA/MTA) or bachelor studies in the field of biological sciences with multiple years of previous handson experience in an academic, pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment or alternatively a master's degree in a relevant discipline with proven experimental expertise
Strong background and handson experience in molecular biology techniques (RNA/DNA extraction, PCR and qRTPCR or other techniques for expression profiling)
Handson experience in sample generation for next generation sequencing approaches beneficial
Sound understanding and experience in cell culture and treatment and relevant techniques to detect effects of cell manipulation (Western Blotting, Immunofluorescence and/ or FACS)
Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure to tight timelines
Selfstarter and flexible team player with good communication skills in English
