- Assist the C&E Tax Manager in researching regulations to optimize bp's Tax position using trade programs and excise regimes.
- Support in implementing controls for excise exemption/suspension regimes and origin management.
- Review excise exempted transactions, imports, and exports to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Assist in excise-related operations within Germany and cooperate with customs brokers/agents.
- Support the daily C&E matters such as license requests, tax returns, and regulatory reviews.
- Monitor tax legislative changes and contribute to C&E planning opportunities.
- Support tax audits and ensure effective control of C&E processes and risk management.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders and provide C&E support across jurisdictions.
- Ideal candidates will have a university degree and 2-4 years of relevant Excise & Customs experience.
- Knowledge of European and international customs and excise laws, as well as the energy sector, is advantageous.
- Understanding the interaction between Customs, Transfer Pricing, Compliance, Excise duties, VAT, and Export Controls.
- Strong analytical, communication, and networking skills are essential.

BP's Global Tax Department operates across seven key strategic areas: Tax Business Partnering, Tax Operations, Tax Dispute Resolution, Tax Planning, Tax Reporting, Tax Technology, and Tax Policy. Within the Business Partnering division, we have established a Global Customs & Excise (C&E) team dedicated to providing strategic guidance and ensuring global compliance for all bp businesses in C&E matters.
Germany is a pivotal growth region for bp, hosting our bio-converted refineries focusing on sustainable fuel production and a variety of retail, air, low carbon, and renewable businesses, leading to exciting customs and excise activities.
The C&E Tax Analyst will report to the Germany Customs & Excise Tax Manager, supporting C&E matters across various business units. As part of our Global team, you will play a key role in centralizing, optimizing, and digitizing our C&E management processes.
The C&E Tax Analyst will collaborate with local business units (Refinery, Retail, B2B, Supply, Air, EV, Hydrogen, and Lubes), tax authorities, and corporate functions to ensure compliance and contribute to our Net Zero ambition.
