Postdoc (M/F/d)

in the field of precision immunology in infectious diseases


The position is part of the externally funded project "_Swarm Learning for precision medicine in infectious diseases and pandemic preparedness_" and is limited for the duration of three years at the Professorship for Internal Medicine with a focus on Clinical Infectiology and Experimental Pneumology, Department of Medicine V, the Faculty of Medicine.

The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H).


Your tasks at a glance

  • Establishment of a pipeline for rapid and standardized preparation and processing of patient samples for multicolor flow cytometry and single cell sequencing Collection, processing and analysis of patient samples to determine the individual immune status Phenotyping of immune cells isolated from blood and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) using multicolor flow cytometry (FACS) and single cell analysis Support of the FACS core facility Independent methodological guidance and cosupervision of doctoral students and technical staff

Your qualifications and competences

  • A scientific university degree with doctorate in biology, biochemistry, medicine or veterinary medicine Experience in experimental biomedical research and proficiency in current immunological, molecular biological, cell biological and biochemical methods Strong background in analytical and preparative multicolor flow cytometry and/or single cell sequencing is required Highly independent organizational and communication skills, initiative and the ability to work in a team Interest in AIbased models of immune monitoring Excellent English language skills
