Professur Regelungstechnik und Systemdynamik:

  • Research Associate (m/w/d)
starting immediately limited for one year (100 %, salary group 13 TV-L)


Working field:


  • Within the context of a larger research project in the field of food production, climate chambers are to be further developed for the sensorymonitored and feedbackcontrolled production of various agricultural products. For this purpose, we are looking for a person who develops suitable technical concepts, designs detailed plans, as well as who guides and supports the technical staff during implementation.

Work tasks:
- design and adaptation of an existing thermoelectric air conditioning system for small-scale climate chambers
- design and manufacture of mechanical components using 3D modeling software and rapid prototyping techniques
- programming and debugging of embedded firmware for self-built embedded platforms
- development of climate control and illumination algorithms for various biological processes


Requirements:

- a good scientific university degree (master, diploma) in the field of electrical engineering with a focus on embedded systems and mechatronics or comparable disciplines such as electrical engineering, computer science and mechanical engineering, which gives access to the corresponding qualification level
- basic knowledge in control engineering


Desirable are:
- experience in rapid prototyping using fusion360 3D modeling software and FDM printing
- knowledge of electronic circuits and PCB design with KiCAD
- knowledge of components for heat transfer using thermoelectric components for air conditioning
- knowledge of electrical circuits such as bidirectional control of thermoelectric components, PWM controlled MOSFET driver circuits for motors, and current controlled driver circuits for multi-channel LED lighting systems
- experience in programming Espressif ESP32-S2 microcontrollers using the ESP-IDF framework and FreeRTOS
- experience with protocols such as I2C, MQTT, HTTP and web technologies such as HTML, JavaScripts and ThingsBoard
- experience with code generation using MATLAB Simulink

The position will be occupied conditional upon the provision and approval of third-party funding by the third-party funding provider.
