THE ROLE & THE TEAM:


As a Head of Buying High St you will own and drive the strategic development of the Zalando Young Fashion category, ensuring a high performance triangle between Merchandising, Buying and Category Operations, while leading the Buying one.

  • Owning the commercial strategy for the Young Fashion High Street department. You will be responsible for delivering profitable results, owning processes and delivering best practice. You will ensure all new brand opportunities are maximised, risks are minimised and you will ensure appropriate actions are taken by the team in both situations.
  • The success of this department is your responsibility. You drive and encourage communication with the team and you are overall responsible for the Young Fashion High Street buying internationally.
  • Driving strong leadership. We are looking for an expert that can motivate and develop the team and keep them motivated for success. You are able to structure your team effectively according to their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Maximising relationships is second nature to you. You can build strong relationships with all your key stakeholders and you are influential when you need to be. You are clear and concise with your communication and you can drive vision and strategy with your team.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF:

  • Looking for a solid Business profile with 7-8 years of work experience, you have a good understanding of the multi brand environment as well as both wholesale and platform business models
  • An entrepreneurial mindset that is capable of developing vision for the department and realising a concrete strategic action plan to drive forward the High Street area.
  • Leading is your passion, you are able to manage multiple stakeholders effectively through your strategic communication style and are reliable when it comes to getting things done. You are only as good as your team. You pride yourself in your leadership skills, especially leading a big team and leads of leads
  • Being motivated and structured in very dynamic and fastpaced environments. You embrace change and are always on the hunt for solutions, you are comfortable with some ambiguity. You have excellent English skills, and communicate clearly with varied stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and expertise at spotting trends; brave enough to take strategic decisions that are based on this
