Beschreibung
The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg is the largest solar research institute in Europe.

Our approximately 1,400 employees work for a sustainable, economic, secure and socially just energy supply system based on renewable energies.

We contribute to this with our main research areas of energy supply, energy distribution, energy storage and energy use.

Through outstanding research results, successful industrial projects, company spin-offs and global collaborations, we are shaping the sustainable transformation of the energy system.

For our department "Silicon Material" we are looking for a student assistant as soon as possible.

The "Silicon Material" department is researching on silicon and germanium-based materials for use in solar cells.

For this purpose, different methods are used to prepare the samples, such as chemical vapor deposition or electrochemical porosification as well as various thermal post-treatments.

The department operates a facility that enables the production of high-purity, epitaxially grown silicon wafers.

In addition to the processing of wafers, the focus of the department is the versatile characterization of the samples produced.

Both structural analysis and electrical measurements are used.

What you will do

  • You are actively involved in the production of epitaxially grown silicon wafers.
  • You independently carry out measurements for material characterization (for example lifetime measurements, microscopy, thickness measurements,...)
  • You evaluate the measurements and document the results.
  • You support with administrative tasks.
  • You create instructions and documentation.

What you bring to the table

  • You are studying physics, chemistry, crystallography, renewable energies, or a comparable field of studies.
  • You have a basic technical understanding. Experience in the operation of machines and measuring instruments is helpful, but not mandatory.
  • You plan and complete tasks independently and with high quality. The routine handling of MS Office programs is a matter of course for you.
  • You have very good English and good knowledge of German and have already successfully proven them.

What you can expect

  • You will work with one of the most popular employers on a par with the best.
  • Openminded colleagues are happy to welcome new talents into their ranks.
  • We offer flexible working time models and give you the opportunity to work from home at times.
  • We also foster a cooperative working atmosphere and open communication.
  • We value equal opportunities and allow room for diversity.
  • You can participate in attractive sports and health programs and afterwork activities.
The remuneration depends on the degree of your university education. The monthly working time should be 40 hours.
