- Ensuring and further developing operational network operation for the UKM
- Administration of the existing Cisco and HPE/Aruba network infrastructure
- Administration of network security systems such as firewall, VPN gateway
- Monitoring of the network
- Collaboration in challenging projects in the IT division, taking into account current technological developments
- Troubleshooting the network infrastructure
- A completed apprenticeship as an IT specialist (gn*), specializing in system integration, or comparable qualifications
- Knowledge in the areas of routing/switching

The IT division of Münster University Hospital enables the digitalization of patient care with over 100 specialists (gn*) for around 11,000 employees, our patients (gn*), their relatives and networked partners (gn*) of the UKM. We support and implement efficient processes and professional communication. As one of the most powerful IT organizations in the Münsterland region, we manage more than 6,500 workstations, over 1,000 servers, the further development and expansion of our business and clinical systems (primarily SAP and Orbis) and play a key role in managing strategic IT projects.
Our aim is to implement the requirements for modern, secure and highly available information and telecommunications technology reliably, quickly and effectively. The network environment is essential in meeting these complex challenges of digitalization in the healthcare sector. The UKM operates a modern LAN with approx. 29,000 ports and corresponding hardware equipment. A team of IT network administrators (gn*) is responsible for ensuring operational network operation and the continuous further development of the network.
