What you will do


In a collaborative and international environment, you will work at our institute in Straubing on the development of electrocatalysts and electrocatalytic processes for the conversion of renewable substrates into valuable platform chemicals.


In particular, you will be dedicated to the electrochemical synthesis of hydrogen peroxide with a focus on technically relevant process conditions and with a clear perspective of industrial applicability.

Specifically, your work includes literature review, fabrication and optimization of electrodes with active catalysts, and experimental studies of electrodes in electrochemical processes.


You will explore relationships between electrodes, electrolytes, membranes, operating parameters, and process performance, working on both small-scale screening systems and large-scale flow cells.


What you bring to the table

  • Very sucessfully completed studies of chemistry, chemicalengineering, physics or physical chemistry
  • Strong interest and experience in electrochemistry, chemical synthesis and materials characterization, for example using SEM, XRD and FTIR
  • You bring enthusiasm for experimental work in a chemistry laboratory and for collaboration in an interdisciplinary team
  • You have the ability to work independently and develop new ideas to solve scientific problems
  • You you are fluent in written and spoken English, profound knowledge of German is advantageous
  • You are highly motivated and take responsibility for yourself and your actions
