ABOUT THE VENTURE

Early stage
Precision fermentation

We're an early-stage precision fermentation start-up on a mission to kick off the next great bio-industrial revolution by developing an intelligent, sustainable & healthier approach to the production of raw materials.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Co-Founder and CTO you will play a core role in the founding team of our early-stage Biotech start-up. Your ultimate goal will be to organize data for our scientific team to enable faster and more innovative progress.

You will be responsible for leading the design, growth, and maintenance of our data infrastructure to support our R&D activities.

Additional activities will include recruitment and management, as well as contributing to the overall vision and strategic direction of the company.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THE FIRST MONTHS

Design and begin constructing the company's overarching data infrastructure
Establish our main database and populate it with both internally generated data as well as massive amounts of public genetic, genomic, proteomic, and metabolic data.
Lead the development of analytical tools and pipelines for this database
Work closely with our scientists to optimize our database and tools as well as identify creative solutions to their analytical challenges
Innovate and advise on the latest technologies and standard methodologies in data engineering
Manage relationships and project coordination with external parties

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE GREAT AT THIS JOB

D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, engineering, or a related field (Non-PhD holders with equivalent experience and skills will be considered)

Deep knowledge of data storage and analytical technologies
Excellent skills in analytical tool development and data pipeline construction
