The new position as Head of Global Tax Germany is part of Fresenius Medical Care's Center of Excellence Global Tax.

The Head of Global Tax Germany leads a team of tax experts and reports directly to the Head of Global Tax.

The role includes local responsibility with global interfaces and the following tasks:

Your assignments:

Comprehensive tax support for the German FME companies, especially in the areas of income taxes, VAT and wage taxes
Independent preparation of all tax returns of the domestic FME companies and determination of income taxes in the annual financial statements as well as in the quarterly financial statements
Implementation and improvement of tax processes such as the correct mapping and registration of withholding taxes or the taxation of noncash benefits
Development and implementation of the group tax audit strategy as well as ongoing support of the tax audit
Supervision of outofcourt appeal proceedings and court actions in tax matters in close coordination with the Tax Audit and Controversy function
Compliance with all relevant processes of the Tax Compliance Management System incl. training as well as support of the Tax Compliance Officer in the continuous adaptation of the processes
Actively shaping the digital transformation of the tax function in alignment with the Global Tax Automation Strategy
Responsible implementation and maintenance of "Tax Tools".
Active participation in tax lobbying, directly or via working groups of business associations
Supervision of external tax advisors to the extent that consulting services or the preparation of tax returns are outsourced

Your profile:

Successfully completed studies in economics or law, or specialized studies in tax administration, tax advisor or tax lawyer
You are already a proven group tax expert with a focus on German tax law and knowledge of finance and accounting (IFRS and local)
You have at least 10 years of professional experience in tax compliance, ideally at least 4 years in a local tax department of a corporate group
Analytical thinking and understanding of complex interrelationships as well as solutionoriented work are part of your qualifications, as well as independent and structured working methods and team and communication skills.
Interdisciplinary way of working
English fluent in spoken and written, other foreign languages are an advantage
