About us
At MBition, we are bringing digital luxury to mobility users around the world.

To accomplish this, we are redefining how software is developed within the automotive field as part of an international Mercedes-Benz software development network.

As a 100% subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, we develop and integrate the next generation of Mercedes-Benz in-car infotainment systems that are based on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MBOS).

In addition, we are responsible for the Mercedes me companion app, we provide seamless & connected mobility experiences and we contribute to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) platform development.

With offices in Berlin and Sofia, we are aiming to bring new generation of innovative infotainment systems across the globe.

Your Mission

In our team, we develop, together with Daimler and other partners, the future infotainment system and its platform for Mercedes-Benz cars. The system is developed inhouse at MBition, at Mercedes-Benz, and at other partners. Open Source forms a central part of our development culture, where we are using, upstreaming, and driving a multitude FOSS projects.
What we need you to do
As the Open Source Principal Architect you will drive MBition's technical and operational FOSS strategy, working directly with MBition leadership, Mercedes-Benz stakeholders, and open source projects to make FOSS a central part of our current and future products.
Your roles and responsibilities
Help MBition is fully embrace FOSS technologies, culture, and philosophies.
Initiate and drive new strategic FOSS projects with planning, internal & external buyin, and implementation leadership.
Create presentations, presented internally and externally at senior management level to promote our FOSS strategy.
Create and drive an operational rollout plan, enabling MBition to weave FOSS projects and philosophy into their daily work.

Qualifikationen
Your Profile
Experience
Extensive Experience in FOSS development and community engagement, including maintainer roles.
Extensive Automotive software engineering experience.
Fullcycle Infotainment development, including market launch, is a plus.
Linux development experience in C/C++/Python, etc.
Yocto, including branch and release strategies, metalayer and recipe design, etc.

Personal skills

Strong technical leadership skills.
Ability to present and sell FOSS concepts, strategies, and projects upper management.
Ability to lead and guide FOSS projects with people management, planning, presentations, etc.
Experience

in internal deployment of Inner Source projects is a plus.
