Responsibilities:


  • The Section Manager will lead the regional functional development department "R&D Collaborative Engineering" and be accountable for the delivery of highquality technical work packages for technology and product development projects and sustaining activities
  • Member of Olympus's R&D Leadership Team under the EMEA-Development Center
  • Function group R&D OEM
  • Accountable for building, mentoring and maintaining a highly functional technical team while ensuring delivery of highquality technical work packages and appropriately managing collaboration with cross functional partnerships
  • Accountable to set up an appropriate infrastructure within the department to perform the technology, sustaining and product development projects efficiently
  • Drive best practices, global standardization and to optimize efficiency of Olympus's product development
  • Creates a strong network in the Development Ceneters to strengthen the project execution.
  • Define team and personal goals in accordance with management policies and strategies and ensure their achievement
  • Responsible for budget, capacity and resource planning of the team and ensure plan fulfilment
  • Develop products in cooperation with external partner as OfftheShelf, contract manufacturing
- or OEM-product

  • Supports the supplier scouting and selection activities, audits internally and externally at suppliers.
  • Contact person in case of notified body related questions for the OEM development process and the products
Your qualification

  • Master degree in Life Sciences or Engineering
  • Several years of experience in development and production of medical devices
  • First experience within leadership and business acumen, preferred in medical device research & development
  • Experience in process and businessoriented management
  • Proven ability to select, lead, retain and develop a team and to recognize employee issues and act on them with a sense of urgency
  • Handson leadership skills with a proven track record of hiring, mentoring and leading a diverse technical management team
  • Ability to prioritize and execute despite varying stakeholders, priorities, and tasks
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal and external partners, ability to manage conflicts
  • Energetic selfstarter with strong executive presence and results oriented
  • Strong collaborator with a history of delivering new products to market that meet user and business requirements
