Director of Vehicle E/E development is seasoned engineering manager, with proven experience in launching automotive engineering components and systems. He or She will own Deployment of all E/E systems and components for BEV and FCEV vehicles, and serve as the main point of contact for E/E system development towards the Vehicle Chief Engineers


Responsibilities:


  • Leads a team of Function and Component Owners, in development of the various vehicle E/E systems as part of the Chassis

- and Cabin
  • Electronics, Active Safety and User experience, as well as relevant electrical systems on the vehicle
  • Supervise and Coordinate all crossfunctional activities and supplier management for deployment of the E/E systems
  • Defines delivery plan with suppliers and project contributors in accordance to the vehicle development milestones
  • Ensures releases meet vehicle milestones and performance meets quality and regulatory requirements. (e.g. GSR)
  • Prepares and drives priorities and daily planning routine with engineering teams and suppliers
  • Leads and publishes list of all critical issues on the projects, and performs regular risk management assessment with proposed mitigation plans
  • Reports status of the E/E development activities to the Vehicle Chief Engineers
  • Works with product and component validation teams to ensure vehicle functions perform in accordance to the regulations and product specifications
  • Support homologation and type approval activities

Qualifications:

  • Technical / Engineering background with "Hands on mentality"
  • Familiar with ADAS components and systems, ADAS/AD trends e.g. NCAP, GSR.
  • Years of Experience: at least 10 yrs in Automotive, 3+ years in role of an Engineering Manager
  • Tier 1 or OEM experience are welcome
  • Languages: English (high proficiency). In addition, German and/or Italian are strengths
  • People Management in the current or previous roles and can successfully demonstrate leadership capabilities
  • Occasional travel to the US will be required
