Communications Systems Measurement and Test (M/F/x)


Background


RF requirements for future
5G and 6G communication systems are increasing with respect to signal quality, sensitivity, and dynamic switching performance.

Especially for communication systems, simple RF tests will not be sufficient to measure these parameters.

The goal of the internship is to qualify RF systems based on the
3GPP standard . For this purpose, corresponding measurement methods need to be developed, integrated into an existing framework, and thoroughly tested. Furthermore, the integration of new RF systems into the framework is required to allow a comparison between different devices.


Your Tasks

  • Test creation for the 3GPP 5G NR mobile radio standard
  • Measurement setup including the hardware integration to the RF system
  • Test execution and evaluation

Your Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications: _
  • Student (M/F/x) of Information system technology or Electrical engineering, in the 5th semester or higher
  • Knowledge in signal processing algorithms
  • Experience in at least one of the following programming tools: LabVIEW, or C/C ++, or Python
  • Fluency in German or English
  • Compulsory internship (duration: from 4 to 6 months)
  • Additional Qualifications: _
  • Basic knowledge in Linux and command line interface
  • Experience in practical handling of measuring instruments (e.g., Signal Analyzer, Oscilloscope )
  • Previous experience with cellular standards is desired, but not required
