Who You Are
Are you curious about how distant objects in space communicate with us on Earth? Do you want to make a first step in Space Operations and gets hands on experience working with the Ground Segment and space communication standards?

Join us and take the opportunity of being part of our Spacecraft Operations and Network Controller team.

You will be working 24x7 rotating shifts, supporting several spacecraft missions from control rooms at the German Space Operations Centre.

This is an entry level L1 support position that will give you, due to the initial and continuous training, a wide knowledge of Ground Segments and it will open more doors to pursuit a career in Space Operations.

What You Will Focus on
The position requires training and certification as Spacecraft Operations and Network Controller. The tasks are delivered in 24x7 shift pattern at the client site.

The core duties will be as below (but not limited to):

  • Handling of real-time spacecraft operations and voice communication following standard procedures;
  • Coordination between different ground stations and spacecraft missions;
  • Contingency and emergency scheduling of operations;
  • Monitoring and control of the Ground System Network and data transfer;
  • First level (L1) response to anomalies and assistance to Oncall personnel in troubleshooting;
  • Logging and reporting of activities and anomalies;
  • Cross certification as Ground Station Controller or other projects, if needed.

What You Bring

  • Good technical background in Telecommunication, Aerospace or IT related stream (Preferably, with an engineering degree but is not a must due to extensive onsite training);
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Essentially

  • Good communication skills;
  • Teamplayer;
  • Fastlearner and willing to improve;
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and take responsibility;
  • Flexible;
  • Ability to prioritize different parallel activities;
  • Capability of following and implementing standard procedures;
  • Problem Solving aptitude.
Desirably

  • Knowledge of LINUX;
  • Programming and Networking skills.
