Your Profile

We are looking for a person with a university degree in design or a comparable design programme and a corresponding doctorate or doctorate-equivalent achievements in accordance with the State Higher Education Act


We expect:

  • Comprehensive competences and skills in the areas of crossmedia campaigns, crossmedia marketing and content creation as well as knowledge in the areas of responsive web design and app design or screen and GUI design, which must be proven by work samples from your professional practice.
  • Expertise in the field of media production and design.
  • Several years of experience in the field of computer science, in particular a confident handling of HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Java and their further developments.
  • Additional knowledge or practical experience in at least three of the following areas:
  • Web development
  • Media technology
  • Digital storytelling
  • Corporate media
  • Media theory
  • A portfolio with meaningful and relevant work samples that demonstrate your outstanding creative achievements, as well as any prizes and awards you have won.


We expect the applicant to integrate themselves well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to get involved in the academic self-administration of our university and to enjoy imparting knowledge from their own professional experience to the students.


The university has a large number of collaborations with universities and research institutions such as Max Planck Institutes and Fraunhofer Institutes as well as companies.

Intensifying and expanding these collaborations is highly desired.

Active participation in the university's research activities is desired. In this context, we strive to increase third-party funding and the number of cooperative doctorates.


We advocate a supervision concept that requires a high level of presence of the teaching staff at the university campus.

German language skills (at least level C1) and English language skills are required. Teaching language ist mainly German.


The hiring requirements for professors are regulated in Sec 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

This position is available from winter term 2024/2025 at the Zweibrücken campus of Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences at the Department Computer Sciences and Microsystems Technolgy in full time.
