We, Supply Chain Planning at Mercedes-Benz Cars Operation, automate and digitalize the production supply of our production plants using state-of-the-art technologies, stable methods / processes and pioneering innovations. Our team is responsible for the logistics process planning of the Sindelfingen site and we are looking for new minds who want to shape the future of assembly logistics with us.

With an experienced, motivated team, we plan the entire E2E logistics process chain in close and cooperative partnership with other interface areas. We work closely with our customers, such as operational operators. The production and logistics areas are located within walking distance of our office. Our way of working is characterized by a high level of personal responsibility, mutual support and an innovative approach. We communicate concepts, challenges and implementation progress in regular meetings. We make active use of mobile working.

As an intralogistics planner in our highly motivated team, you will ensure that your ideas for the digitalized future of production supply become reality.

You will have these tasks:

Planning and designing complex logistics processes from the strategy to the vehicle phase (including the implementation of processes in the production halls), from internal and external suppliers to the installation site, in close coordination with, among others, press shop, body shop, surface, assembly and factory planning as well as intensive involvement of the target plant

Coordination of a complete E2E quantity structure with module planning and other specialist departments

Safeguarding logistics processes with material flow simulations, among other things, but also in hardware with corresponding pilot plants (hardware IPV "interdisciplinary production preparation")

Safeguarding supply chains by connecting suppliers to complex processes (JIS-AK)

Coordination of planning results with the responsible project partners, development of alternative solutions (e.g. make-or-buy decisions) and preparation for management

Representation of logistics in specialist committees, in the steering committee and functional groups of the project organization concerned

Determination of cost- and supply-optimized delivery and location concepts, including review and subsequent cost negotiations in cooperation with Purchasing, as well as ensuring implementation with all process participants. In particular in tendering procedures for logistics functions (logistics services)

Independent management of projects, including new type projects as well as automation and digitalization of production supply - this also includes the management of internal hubs and external planning service providers

Selecting and developing suitable suppliers for the development of automated supply processes

Designing strategic target images for the use of the latest technologies from the idea to the standard for all production plants of Mercedes-Benz Cars Operations

You will also be responsible for

Planning the overall layout and coordinating the building and plant infrastructures, AK requirements planning as well as logistics costs and their controlling in close cooperation with the sub-project manager

Designing and implementing logistical optimization approaches in the concept development (e.g. modularization) of new products

Intensive cooperation with the module groups for logistics-oriented product design by specifically influencing part variance and geometry

Safeguarding planning through benchmarks, cost workshops and the implementation of lean processes and their presentation at management level

Introduction of new logistics processes and production control systems

Ensuring legally compliant planning (e.g. occupational health and safety, environmental protection and energy management), taking into account, for example, technical approvals and acceptance in accordance with the German Civil Code (BGB)

Conceptual design of the required IT interfaces (AGV Connect, AGV-Live, AmSupply)

Creation of emergency strategy concepts to safeguard the overall network between assembly + logistics

Qualifikationen

Ideally you have the following for this job:

Completed studies in industrial engineering or a comparable technical degree program with a focus on logistics and IT or comparable professional experience in the field of logistics or production planning

Experience in the technical management of an interdisciplinary team

Very good knowledge of logistics processes in the production supply of an automobile manufacturer

Very good knowledge of managing suppliers of technical products with an IT component (robots, etc.)

Good knowledge of the framework conditions for the operation of production-critical IT systems

Knowledge of the use of programming languages would be an advantage

Knowledge of the product development process is an advantage
