About us:

Air Hamburg has recently be acquired by Vista Global Holdings.

Vista is a fast-growing private aviation business, operating the world's largest wholly owned large cabin private jet fleet, embracing the highest levels of service, safety, security, reliability and value.


We are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team in Hamburg to support the recent acquisition of Air Hamburg and help build the local Finance function and be the link between the Air Hamburg and VistaJet businesses.


Reporting into the Accounting and Reporting Manager based in Hamburg, you will be responsible for the entity accounting and reporting which form part of Group's quarterly and annual consolidated IFRS financial statements for external reporting, more regular management reporting and local statutory accounts.


Tasks:


  • Gain a detailed understanding of the Group's business with particular emphasis on the assigned areas of responsibility as well as the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting timeframes, processes, and systems;
  • Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting tasks for the assigned entities or areas of responsibility, including but not limited to intercompany reconciliations, completeness of accruals and prepayments, ensuring proper cost allocation and capitalization, review and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, preparation of financial statements, etc;
  • Provide management with explanations and analysis to support the costs, revenue or balances as may be required from time to time;
  • Provide external auditors with documentation, explanations, and analysis as necessary to assist with the smooth execution of annual audits or quarterly reviews;
  • Assist in documenting and updating of internal processes and procedures as necessary and contribute to the overall development and continuous improvement of such processes through feedback and active participation;
  • Understand the overall finance team objectives and assist team members as necessary in the wider interest of the team and its overall goals.

Profile:


  • Should demonstrate values, skills and behaviours that are consistent with Vista Global's core values;
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant working experience, preferably within an international organisation;
  • Have a strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills;
  • Able to make sense of the numbers and challenge the data, seeking and offering explanations when necessary;
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team in a highly transactional company;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with the team and internal departments;
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy whilst delivering to tight deadlines;
  • Fluency in written and spoken German & English;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel; and
  • Knowledge of Simba/SAP and/or experience in the Aviation sector will be considered an asset.
