SUMMARY


The Defense Health Agency's Virtual Medical Center in Europe currently provides digital health care delivery between 300+ providers within 43 specialties to patients in garrison, operational, and remote settings spanning four Combatant Commands on three continents serving the U.S.

Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, NATO, Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency, and Department of State Service and Family members.


The scope of this program is to implement virtual scheduling systems as directed by the Defense Health Agency and provide comprehensive training to each end user, as well as provide site assessments on virtual requirements to include, connectivity and equipment, etc.

The Virtual Medical Center Europe end state will be to sustain current capabilities and increase global footprint to facilitate and leverage Defense Health Region-Europe's Medical Center and Treatment Facility Specialty Services throughout the Defense Health Region Europe, other Defense Health Agency Markets, and the Combatant Commands within Virtual Medical Center in Europe Area of Responsibility.


The Information Technology Specialist Lead maintains current DoD certificates to assist, coordinate, and work with LRMC CIO, MRC EUR J6, MITC, USAFE Signal Operation, USNFE Signal Operations, and Service Support Contractors.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or six years of experience as detailed
  • DoD and DoDD IAT level 2 certification required
  • Comp TIA Security+ required
  • Comp TIA A+ preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the technology surrounding video conferencing including conference room and desktop systems, MCU's, Gateway, Gatekeeper, and integrated A/V systems
  • Strong working knowledge of standard video communications protocols
  • Knowledge of VTC codecs
  • A solid understanding of AV/VTC infrastructure and associated devices
  • Experience with customer support for VTC events at all levels in the organization
  • Experience providing enduser training on VTC technology
  • Able to support and maintain VTC CODECs and associated equipment
  • General understanding of tactical communication platforms utilized by the DoD
  • Prior team management or leadership experience preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:


  • Provide weekly report on analytical information on connectivity issues, total successful and unsuccessful connections.
  • Responsible for reporting personnel status to leadership.
  • Work with all Virtual Health leads to identify potential process improvement for policies and procedures and provide recommendations to Virtual Health leadership.
  • Manage workflow by allocating specific tasks to team members to include changes in schedule.
  • Responsible to assign a trainer for various training events to include new employees.
  • Collaborate with local IMD for initial installation, modifications, and preventive maintenance checks to ensure proper functioning of video teleconferencing equipment used for Virtual Health.
  • Conduct site and organization visits in coordination and collaboration with local IMD/IT, as required, to validate existing hardware and software meet Virtual Health capabilities.
  • Collect, analyze, and document historic IT data on issues and processes affecting Virtual Health implementation and performance. Evaluate operations for compliance and effectiveness, then develop workflows, standard operating procedures, recommendations, upgrades, and methods on improved/enhanced IT solutions for VH technology and service integration.
  • Provide immediate technical assistance and support during all synchronous Virtual Health encounters. Assist with bridging services, sustain audio, and video connectivity and troubleshoot issues without delay.
  • Maintain a record of personnel and organizations trained and save it in the Virtual Health share drive.
  • Consult on protocol analysis and knowledge for data communications protocols. Perform fault management; configuration control, and performance monitoring of Virtual Health technology; elevate troubleshooting to higher tier whenever local solutions are insufficient.
  • Work closely with agencies operating in the covered regions on communication connectivity and equipment service with consideration of strategic and tactical communication requirements.
  • Maintain the Virtual Medical Center Europe database, contents, and SharePoint environment to assist in promoting comprehensive information flow, community awareness, collaboration, participation, and understanding.
