Join Intel and build a better tomorrow
We create world-changing technology that improves the life of every person on the planet.
We have big ambitions, and a passion to work with others and address world challenges no one can tackle alone.
About the recruitment process
The Neuromorphic Computing Lab and the Autonomous Mobile Systems Research Lab at Intel Labs are seeking a talented researcher to pioneer a new class of algorithms targeting Intel's neuromorphic processors.
The goal of the present project is to make autonomous systems faster, safer, and more energy efficient in industrial tasks.
This opportunity will not only allow you to gain expertise in autonomous systems, neuromorphic AI, and software development, but also to participate in commercializing this technology while solving real-world customer use cases.
Within our team, your day-to-day work may include:
- algorithm development for robotic motion planning,
- integrating algorithms in simulated and physical autonomous systems,
- comparing the performance of new algorithms to conventional solutions.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Master program in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Robotics, Computational Neuroscience, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in C/C++ and Python; the ability to design and write quality code.
- Experience with artificial neural networks for AI or computational neuroscience, and software frameworks commonly used in these fields.
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System; ROS2 would be an advantage)
Please note that the student needs to be enrolled at a university for the full duration of the student employment.
It would be an advantage if you had experience and would like to develop your skills in:
- robotic path planning
- benchmarking algorithms against state-of-the-art solutions
- designing robotic demos.
- collaborative software development (design methodologies, SCRUM, version control, software testing, etc.)
- developing algorithms for neuromorphic hardware systems.
We would be particularly excited about familiarity with the Lava software, and with constraints that neuromorphic hardware imposes on algorithm development.
What do we offer?
- A collaborative, supportive environment, where your equally brilliant colleagues will push you to be your best.
- Competitive pay
- Diverse and inclusive environment (read more about it here)
- Being a part of a socially and ecologically responsible company (read more about it here).
