- Collaborating with multidisciplinary groups supporting analytical and/or platform projects.
- Developing and deploying bioinformatics pipelines/workflows.
- Authoring and maintaining analysis and workflow documentation.
- Enhancing knowledge of advanced concepts in relevant areas such as microbial and host genomics, statistics, data management, software development, etc.
- Developing new analysis strategies for large biological datasets (multi-omics) by utilising multivariable statistics and/or machine learning, effectively optimising the company's computational platform.
- Working proactively as part of a cross-functional team in support of a commercially viable therapeutics discovery platform.
- Communicating clearly and efficiently with co-workers, leadership and other stakeholders.
- PhD in Computational Biology or a related field, or MSc with 3 years of experience with data analysis and workflow development in one or more bioinformatics fields (genomics, metagenomics, microbiome, genome-evolution, or ecology)
- Proficiency with bioinformatics tools/databases and strong programming skills with R or Python.
- Experience with complex data wrangling and visualisation.
- Experience developing scientific workflows (ideally using Nextflow)
- Experience with containerisation using Docker or Singularity.
- Desirable - Experience with a cloud computing platform (ideally GCP)
- Desirable - Experience with Metagenomics or 16S analysis.
- Desirable - Experience with SQL databases.
