Construction & Permit Specialist (M/F/x)
with the vision to match our ambition


We are looking for an experienced
Construction & Permit Specialist (M/F/x) who truly believes that the world needs Special Forces to fight climate change and reduce CO2 emissions.


What you'll do:


  • Proactively manage external stakeholders and propose solutions for speeding up the permitting and construction works.
  • Do forecasting and tracking of permits, construction budget and schedule. Then reporting and escalating it to the Head of Scaleup.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to the authorities and other permitting stakeholders.
  • Formulate technical specifications and RFQs for the building contractor selection with the support of an external plant engineering office.
  • Manage and supervise building contractor(s) during construction works.
  • Sometimes travel to meet with construction and permitting partners/authorities.

Requirements:


To succeed in this position, you'll need:

  • 3 years experience in permitting and/or construction and civil engineering framework.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills (German and English required). Ability to communicate and negotiate across contractors, authorities, internal stakeholders etc.
  • Basic knowledge of German construction regulatory and permitting requirements (BauO, BImSchV, BImSchG) and relevant external stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of environmental sensitivities in an existing chemical park and chemical plant engineering.
  • Proficient technical report writing skills.
  • Ability to recognise potential permitting issues and contribute actively in solving problems.


  • Building and Construction

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of buildings, preferably for powder
- and gas-processing chemical plants.

  • Ability and keenness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Experience in obtaining construction and environmental permits in Germany and/or work as a construction site specialist/manager is highly preferred
  • Basic ability to evaluate plant engineering and construction works for correctness.
  • Understanding of construction contracting and contractor management (including budget and schedule management).
