We have an exciting opportunity for a new Operations Design Specialist to join our Northern Europe & Middle East (NE&ME) Service Offshore Operational Readiness team.

The Operations Design Specialist plays a central role in the development and expansion of SGRE's pipeline of new offshore windfarms in NE&ME, acting as the voice of service operations within the sales process.


The Operational Readiness team are at the heart of SGRE's pipeline of new offshore service projects across the NE&ME region.

The successful applicant can be flexibly located in Germany (Hamburg), Denmark (Brande region), the Netherlands (the Hague), or the UK.

The role requires approximately 25% travel to different project, customer, and office locations across the NE&ME region.

The successful applicant will be joining a team of 3 other Operations Design Specialists and 4 Operational Readiness Specialists, reporting directly to the NE&ME Operational Readiness Programme Manager.

Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:
  • Review and update operational standards to ensure they remain relevant and in line with best practice and lessons learned from SGRE's project portfolio
  • Support customer facing contractual negotiations ensuring that operational models are reflective of both SGRE & customer requirements
  • Provide regular project updates and escalations (where required) to OR Programme Manager and management teams in Operations & Sales
  • Management of internal and external customer relationship through effective stakeholder management and communication
  • Lead & support internal Operational Readiness improvement projects to ensure that the team constantly improves and remains fit for the future
  • Effective management of project risks and opportunities through effective risk management and mitigation
  • Management and regular monitoring of compliance to applicable standards, rules and regulations (local and international)
What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.

We are also looking for applicants with:

  • Wind industry experience in an operational role where they have gained a strong understanding of wind industry service operations
  • Previous experience dealing with contractual and commercial activities, ideally from the wind industry
  • Attention to detail and a high proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • most importantly, Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • both internally and externally
  • through a variety of means, including report writing, presentations, and workshop facilitation
  • Strong ability to manage stakeholders and customers
  • Wind turbine technical knowledge would be advantageous
  • A formal project management qualification would be advantageous
  • A willingness and ability to travel to customer or project locations in the NE&ME region
